Postcard 11: Engage
Hi Friends,
Happy Monday.
I've been engaging folks on Twitter more than I ever have in the past; some of those conversations have been incredibly valuable to me so far. The back and forth leads to new ideas, and those tweets have served as a fantastic way to validate if my ideas are any good and have them challenged.
There has never been a time in human history where regular people like me could engage with anyone, including the Einstein's of the world, and either agree with their ideas or challenge them and learn in that process. I need to timebox the engagement there, but engaging with good people is an incredible opportunity to compound knowledge much faster.
The Ship30 challenge has forced me to engage and get out of my shell because I used to view social media as mindless and useless, but I was wrong, especially about Twitter.
Let's get into the newsletter.
A few tweets from this week:
A great twitter thread on how the WhatsApp founders got rejected as Facebook employees, by failing the engineering interview, then sold WhatsApp to FB for $19 billion.
A new economist article came out painting a grim picture of Europe's completeness. This twitter thread sums up that article and adds many other valuable points, its a great read.
Nomads working remotely used to be a niche thing, now the world is changing fast. The founder of Levels.io and NomadList one of the leaders of that niche that is now mainstream sums up which remote work places are growing the fastest in this tweet thread and article.
An idea from me on a way to start writing if you are on the fence.
Top Articles I've read from others this week:
It never feels like the right time by Ava
A good reminder to keep your "inventory low" that if you are waiting for the perfect time to start something, the perfect time is not coming.
Human Nature, Signals, and Countersignals by Rob Henderson
An older article that sums up how humans signal or countersignal certain things all of the time
A quote from Golda Meir captures this idea: “Don’t be so humble—you’re not that great.”
A quick update on my Ship30 Journey

Essay 23: A simple equation guarnteed to let you win in life.
Don't forget to reach out if you want to discuss any of these articles, ideas, or any of my other writings. My inbox is open; feel free to reply.
