One of the key things I've started asking myself when I start a vibe-coding idea is: "how would I do this if I didn't have AI", and then use that frame to create the smallest thing possible representing progress toward an MVP.
Start with "do a function", test, then "turn it into an API", then "build a CLI", then "build a UI"
I've been saying more apps will be written in the next few years than in our entire history thus far. You are now my number one example! Have no doubt you will have a hit at the rate you’re improving! Thanks for sharing all your hard earned lessons at the bleeding edge
Great to have a brain storming partner like you Chao, that also puts that stuff into practice! I appreciate you sharing your hard earned wisdom with us too.
Hey Louie! Great to see you back in action. Fascinating piece on how you're using AI. I have my own experiences with using it which echo yours, and I'm finding too that it's excellent in a very narrow range if you already have in-depth subject knowledge but either want (a) to confirm crunchy details or (b) to segue to an analogous but separate application you don't know as well.
I'm going to download WalkWrite and give it a go! Is this your answer to Otter? Can't wait to try it!
Hope you'll start posting again more regularly--I've missed the unique Bacaj take on life.
Thanks for the note & the words of encouragement Chris! I went down a building rabbit hole but I missed writing. I also missed engaging with friends like you through our writing.
I am learning that it’s true what they say, if you stop doing something & miss it then you probably love it :)
I think your assessment of AI is similar to mine. I think we’re probably both right on this, but a lot of marketing dollars being spent to convince us all that it’s much more than that. None the less it’s a good tool & we’re lucky to have it I think.
Fantastic point on regression to the mean.

I love that “how would i do this if i didn’t have AI” because it is probably the very best lens to take to AI to get good output

Thank you for your workshops!
ZansCards looks awesome. BTW, for the vibecoding workshop will there be replays since I'm in Asia?
Thanks Dipankar! We’re doing two different time zones hopefully one works I think love will be a fun experience. But I will get them to record it!
Welcome back, Louie. Had been a while! 💪
Thanks MC! good to be back in the newsletter game, got rusty :)
