But I do have a rule of thumb. Rule number 1 is that my wife and family come first. My wife is my best friend and I make sure to not just give her priority but also whatever she needs. She’s given me so much.
I personally saw some people I know fool
themselves that money or some “calling” is more important than family. I consider myself pretty ambitious, so I am grateful and fortunate I got those lessons without having to make those mistakes.
What's your version of Randolph's Tuesday 5pm, Louie?
I don’t have a set time and place unfortunately.

You and your wife are lucky 🍀 to have each other
Good on ya, Louie
Love the sentiment here and your point about making noise is really on point.
The idea of someone deliberately letting a bug into production just to make a political point terrifies me though.
There should be a better way, we need to be able to talk to each other and be heard.
I am with you Ryan. I think it’s wrong to introduce bugs for political points.
And it’s also wrong to burn yourself and your teams to keep up an unsustainable pace.
Normalizing our pace a little bit caused bugs to slip through. It was inevitable.
But we did have that moment of “why are we burning ourselves out, we’ll never get any help like this”
Letting some bugs slip by to pull in resources. This is such a tricky situation and a tough call to make.
Loved the storytelling on this one :D
Great counter-intuitive advice on being that squeaky wheel!
